Vicki of Mum to Mum MK ‘Checked it out’
“We went to the ODEON IMax cinema at MK1 for the first time this week, to see ”Inside Out” with my kiddies of 8 and 6. The building is lovely and shiny and new! The staff weren’t particularly smiley but once we were inside the screen it was great! The chairs are really comfy and the seating is raked steeply so that even a child can see over the top of the seat in front without the need for a booster which my son really liked!
In one screen there is also a ‘comfortable seating area’ at the front for tiny ones who aren’t ready to sit through a film, great idea for those with babies and older siblings. They have children’s film on for £2.50 through the holidays and at the weekends (think “Two by Two” will be our next one – especially if this rain holds up)!
My eldest and I enjoyed “Inside Out” but a lot of it went over my 6yr old’s head so he just enjoyed the “funny” characters like “Fear” and “Anger” (although he was worried in some parts when the story became a little sadder). Just to prepare you – it did prompt some interesting conversations on the way home with my 8yr old about emotions, the way we react to things etc! I was exhausted by the end of it!”
Thank you Vicki for your Honest Review & Thank you Danielle for trusting us to Review this for you.
September is also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Which leads us on to the amazing Dawn of The Henry Allen Trust.
“Milton Keynes mum Dawn Allen nominated for Pride of Britain Award for work with The Henry Allen Trust.
Dawn has been shortlisted in the final four nominees for the region and has been filmed by ITV, ahead of the broadcast of the awards ceremony on September 29“.
Speaking to OneMK, Dawn spoke of her shock at being nominated by her friend Hayley-Hope Newman in the category ITV Local Fundraiser of the Year. She said: “When I first heard about the nomination, I thought Hayley was joking!
“I am really shocked that people believe I should be recognised. The nomination means the absolute world to us. My worst fear was that everyone would forget Henry – it is so humbling.”
Since Henry passed away in October 2013, The Henry Allen Trust has sought to providing advice and support to families affected by childhood cancer.
Hayley said: “When I saw it was time for nominations for a Pride Of Britain Award, my mind went straight to Dawn.
“The work she is doing with The Henry Allen Trust is truly amazing – to be able to do what she is doing as well as going through the grieving process is phenomenal. Dawn really doesn’t think she is doing anything special, but she is an amazing lady with a heart of gold! She is a true inspiration to me and many more.”
We have supported Dawn since 2013 and really hope she wins as she really deserves it!
