Turning Milton Keynes Mums pink, In memory of Molly & those fighting Breast Cancer Today. #CoppaFeel

I recently watched Kris’s story on TV and what an Inspiration she is. Charity work is making her strive to help others & raise awareness.

“What happens at 23? Well, if you’re lucky, seeing a bit of the world, boozing with mates and a whole load of carefree fun. And if you’re less lucky? Breast cancer. Which is precisely what happened to Kris in 2009.”

“Whenever she’s not in the presence of doctors, she’s pouring her heart, soul and a sh**load of kick–ass into making a success of CoppaFeel!, not only refusing to let cancer wreck her party, but refusing to let it ruin yours too.”

“A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

Margaret Mead

CoppaFeel! ® exists to educate and remind every young person in the UK that checking their boobs isn’t only fun, it could save their life. We are the first breast cancer charity in the UK to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim of instilling a new healthy habit that could one day save their life.

We are a very small team which, collectively, has one almighty big voice. Where we lack in experience and skills, we make up for in determination and valor. We were founded out of a need to right wrongs, and when we hear of more people diagnosed late, or young people dying from this disease, we know there isn’t a more powerful reminder to get up out of bed every morning.

CoppaFeel! is about more than discovering a cancer diagnosis. It’s about empowering ourselves to be proactive about our own health and body, as well as our outlook on life. It’s about knowing your boobs; knowing that if you do find something, you know what to do and if found early, you have many options. Put simply, breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can do make sure this doesn’t continue to happen. We are passionately committed to affecting real change.

What is our purpose?
To help everyone stand the best possible chance of surviving breast cancer by educating you on the importance of getting to know your boobs

What is our action?
We target young people in their natural habitat, be it at a festival or on their university campuses, we will be there to integrate a life saving message into their lives

We offer free and easy reminder services such as a monthly text message, our iCoppaFeel! app or maybe as extreme as a friendly Boob-O-Gram to your place of work. We’re like a friendly bop on the head when you least expect it
We garner corporate support to co-brand and reach out to new audiences
We launch captivating, and some times challenging, national awareness campaigns that produce memorable PR
We organise events that don’t just raise funds, but awareness too
We enlist young breast cancer survivors to be our voice and create peer-to-peer awareness
We ask famous faces to help us reach an even wider audience
We may work with other cancer related organisations to ensure our message, time and funding is as effective as possible
We work with health professionals and policy makers to give early diagnosis the prominence it needs and deserves

What is our belief?
Too many women, and men, die of breast cancer due to late detection. Currently over 2000 cases are diagnosed at stage 4 each year – there is no stage 5. This is unnecessary.

We strongly believe all young people should be taught about all cancers and how to lead healthy lives from a young age. Which is why we have instigated a campaign to #RETHINKCANCER

How are we different?
We are proactive – learning healthy good habits when you are young can help you in years to come
Awareness is at the core of our operation. You won’t find us shaking a bucket on the streets, but we will be there asking you

when you last checked your boobs?

We are a registered charity in England and Wales (no. 1132366) which was set up in 2009 with the following objectives as stated in the Memorandum and Articles of Association:

To promote understanding of breast cancer through education and awareness.
To organise events and activities to generate income for charitable aims.
To cooperate with other organisations to achieve common goals in synergy with our aims.
